The Lake Erie Blue Herons is a fictional minor league football team established in Avon Lake, Ohio in 2009. The branding includes a primary logo, secondary logo, identity system, and brand guidelines to specify usage of the visual brand. Navy blue echos the blue heron’s upper head feathers. Teal is the lake and the stroke on top of the bird, and orange is the color of the bird’s bill. Cubano Italic is the title font, the font has a slight angle matching the direction the mascot is flying and speedy style of football. Gill Sans is for readability in the brand guidelines and promotional material.
